Rochford

RochfordRochford is a town in South East Essex, located approximately 43 miles east from Central London and approximately 21 miles away from the city of Chelmsford. The area is made up predominantly of family homes and boasts an excellent example of a traditional English market-square. The area is popular due to its close proximity to Southend and had a population of 8,471 as of the 2011 Census.

Rochford is home to an annual beer and cider festival located at The Freight House, which is an excellent opportunity to taste traditional ales and ciders. The event runs over a five day period in November. When the festival isn’t in town, the area is a host to many fine pubs, mainly located in Rochford square, which also plays host to a monthly farmers market on the first Saturday of every month.

Purdeys Industrial Estate is home to the main entertainment Rochford has to offer, with The Fun Factory, RollaCity and Elite Fitness all located here. The area also has a keen fishing presence with Rochford Resovoir being an excellent area for a spot of fishing.

Getting here

Rochford is serviced by a train line conducted by Abellio Greater Anglia with two stations in the town. The line begins its journey at Southend Victoria before heading through Southend Airport Train Station (which is located in Rochford), making its way to Rochford Station before eventually terminating at London Liverpool Street.

The area has strong bus links with services conducted by Arriva passing through the town. The area has two bus routes which pass through the town, which connects the area from Rayleigh to Shoeburyness. If travelling by car the area is best accessed via the A127.
