Hullbridge

HullbridgeHullbridge is a semi-rural village in the Rochford district of Essex. Surrounded by farmland and bordered to the north by the River Crouch, and semi-isolated from the nearby towns of Hockley and Rayleigh, Hullbridge has a population measured at 6,527 in the 2011 census.

A popular place to grab a drink a drink in Hullbridge is the newly refurbished Anchor Pub, with scenic views of the surrounding River Crouch, the pub also offers restaurant food and was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand Award in 2016 for exceptional food at modest prices.

Hullbridge has a Non-League football club Hullbridge Sports F.C. who play at Lower Road. Leisure facilities include yacht clubs, a sports and social club, and the Hullbridge Community Centre. Lords Golf and Country Club is situated on the main road out of Hullbridge towards Rayleigh. In addition, there are a number of riverside and country walks that start, finish or pass through Hullbridge. Hullbridge also has a park, located in Pools Lane.

Getting here

The nearest train stations are located in Hockley and Battlesbridge. The line at Hockley, which begins its journey at Southend Victoria, eventually terminates at London Liverpool Street. The Battlesbridge train line connects Southminster to Wickford, where you will then change trains for the journey to London Liverpool Street.

Hullbridge has a bus service conducted by First UK, which connects the village with surrounding towns and villages as far as Basildon. If travelling by car, Hullbridge is best accessed via the A130 if heading from Chelmsford or the A127 if journeying from London.
